Voting

I read that some religious groups don't vote because of different scriptures in the Bible.
one of them is John 17:14. I don't see anything in it that says not to vote. can some one explain this to me? John 17:14 (New International Version)

Hummm...Dont know why they used that particular scripture . Only if one continues to read it says , WE are not of this world. But i for one do not vote. To vote is placing ones confidence and trust and faith in a man. Its YOU who place YOUR vote or Signature to that man or woman for them to do FOR YOU . Thus your confidence and trust is in them and not God . THe goverment rests on HIS shoulders . HE and HE Alone rises kingdoms up and brings kingdoms down . Also another scripture would be Col.2:20 ( Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world , why , as though living in the world , are ye subject to ordinances)Def.{ a custom or practice established by long useage}.
One has to GO BACK to the beginning of things , not what is today. Man has made a policy and or a action or ordinance to proclaim a liberty which from the beginning WAS NOT SO. One must go to the Book of 1 Samuel starting in chapt.8 Where GOD HIMSELF was to be King and not man . But then just like today , man wants to follow man instead of GOD . Be cause Saul was head and shoulders above the rest and looked good and talked well , and did all the things 'people' thought a king should look and act like they wouldnt listen to God or His prophet , they insisted on having a KING over them , like everyone else . Thus the Lord told Israel that they have rejected HIM. And still wanted things their own way , instead of GOD's way . And God told Samuel to tell them what manner of King a 'man' would be . He would take your sons and appoint them for HIMSELF ,for his chariots , and his horseman,and some will run before his chariots. And he will appoint him captains over thousands , and fifties and will set them to ear his ground , to reap his harvest , and make his instruments of war .He will take your daughters to be confectionaries , cooks , bakers , and he will take YOUR fields and vineyards and olive yards , even the BEST(first fruits) of them , and give them to his servants.He will take YOUR menservants and maidservants, and goodliest young men and your asses, and put them to work .HE will take the TENTH of your sheep;and YE shall be 'his' servants.And YE SHALL CRY OUT in that day because of YOUR king which 'YE' shall have 'chosen' you .AND the LORD will not hear you in that day .Nevertheless the PEOPLE "refused" to obey the voice of Samuel . NAY but WE will have a king over us. Thus we may be 'LIKE' all the nations ;and that 'our king may judge us' , and go out 'before us' ,and fight 'our battles'
And the LORD 'Allowed' them their king !!!

Thus here we are TODAY , with the same actions and deeds Israel did. People want to follow man , INSTEAD of GOD. And just as it is written what does that man do , HE TAKES , and TAKES and TAKES !! T-A-X-E-S...that is the word today . Pay taxes . Now some say now that it was a must in order to pay for everything . NO, it was a must to Follow Christ and adhere to HIS WORD and HE SUPPLIED ALL THEIR NEEDS . They never went hungry , they never did without lands , possessions , animals , clothing and Protection from the enemy . GOD went before them , and with them and behind them . HE Encamped and bought blessings on HIS people . BUT when they decided to follow man instead of God . It now even to this day, its man who sets the measure and its the'people' who have to follow thgier lead and pay out the nose because of if. I have heard people say GOD laid the goverment of man's foundation with this so many in the house and senate or president or magistartes and mayors and governors etc etc. NO HE DID NOT !!! MAN done that to 'himself' . JUST like God said he would, here written in His Word . Now when the people whine and complain about their 'king/president' God doesnt hear !!! Its plainley written and its plainley outlined . And God never changes !!!
Read 1 Samuel starting with Chapter 8 , it sums it all up .
And you can continue seeing what Saul did in the sight of God . BUT God still loved His people , just Israel rejected HIM(GOD) from being their king .

I agree with you Truth Speaker, we are suppose to depend upon God alone and not man.
When a nation is wicked, God gives it a wicked ruler, God know that they don’t want Him as there ruler. God is grieved in his heart of the people who don’t want Him, But I want Him, I so desperately need Him. The World will get what they deserve for rejecting His Love. As far as why they use that verse, maybe that is because they think that we are not of the world so we are therefore not suppose to depend upon any man or woman in this world.
